We began renting from Jan Forster Estates in autumn 2012. The first red flag was that the move-in date for our flat was constantly pushed back, despite the flat being advertised as available immediately. It took nearly three weeks for us to be able to move in - they seemed to not be capable of completing more than one simple task per day (ie arranging for a safety inspection, completing inventory, calling the cleaners), but as they had already taken a hefty administrative fee from us, we were forced to simply wait. Many issues were caused by the fact that they often did not receive emails from us with important documents (which we were required to email in), despite our having completely normal and functional email accounts (and when we mentioned to them that we shouldn\'t be penalized for their nonfunctional email system, the man we spoke to said "he doesn\'t control his machine" and denied any responsibility on the company\'s side). When we finally were able to move in, the flat was not very clean - despite the cleaners having "just been there" - and we had to reclean the flat from ceiling to floor to feel comfortable living in it. Since then, we\'ve had nothing but constant issues with them which have left us wondering how they can possibly be in the property management business. Calls are literally never returned and it takes weeks to have the smallest issues addressed (and then only after calling back repeatedly). For instance, we have currently been without an intercom for months after asking them repeatedly to send someone to fix it. They have also made mistakes with our rent payments and on one occasion took 150% of the rent due, blamed the issue on us (which was not accurate) and then had to be chased down to pay back the extra money - and when they finally did, they paid back the wrong amount, another extra sum which had to be chased down. I would NEVER rent from them again and am keenly looking forward to being released from the contract.
