They are the owrst company in world. We moved from Walse to Scotland july2011.My partner was expecting our baby.In October 2011 Castle left us without heating for 3 weeks with a 3 week old baby in the house in the middle of winter. This year August 212 again the boiler broke and Castle left us without hot water and heating for another 3weeks.We are now trying to move and our reference has just failed.WHy?We had a standing order for the first 6 months untill they messed it up.We then had to phone and pay them as they never sent out new form,We always paid our rent.Except last month where I refused to pay them untill the boiler is fixed.NEVER EVER RENT WITH THEM.THEY ARE RUDE WHEN YOU PHONE THEM AND ACCUSE YOU OF BEING AT FAULT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What agent could do to change your mind?

We find it very difficult to respond to this post due to lack of information about which property and which tenancy it refers to. As a general reply therefore we would advise that all tenants are given a complaints procedure and notice that if they are not happy with heating etc in a property then they can submit a complaint to the PRHP panel

Castle Estates does not deliberately refuse to deal with tenants complaints but on many occasions Landlords fail to respond to requests timeously and we are not able to instruct works without consent. The majority of dissatisfaction generally arise out of the misconception by Tenants that we are the ownwers of their property when we are only acting as the Agent acting their on behalf.

On checking our records we can only find one instance within the dates given and we can confirm that this property had Scottish Gas Homecare Agreement which the tenants found it difficult to appreciate that t was their responsibility to make suitable arrangements to call them out as detailed in their tenancy agreement.

With regards to Standing Orders the setting up and managing of these is controlled by the Tenant. If a rent is not paid it is either a fault in the bank or no funds to pay. If the rent has been paid on time and tenant left with no arrears why would we issue a negative reference.

We would welcome further feed back from the Tenant regarding this complaint to allow a more subjective response
