We have been looking for houses in the Bexley area. The team overall has been a great disappointment and have lost a sale due to their really poor attitude to customers.
1, when trying to arrange a viewing, they repeatedly failed to return calls. We have been trying to view a number of properties (we are cash buyers, very keen to move), many are still on the market, but our calls have still not been returned. It took us 3-4 attempts at least to secure a viewing (even on properties that didn't draw much interest), which is far too many.
2, when making an offer, they have been making up phantom offers to try to demonstrate a non-existent buzz around the property (when viewing the property the vendor explained that there were no viewing scheduled for some time and they were not accepting any viewing before the following weekend. Nevertheless, the following day Park Estates claimed that someone, who they claimed viewed the property just after us, in exactly the same position as us offered just above the bid we made.) - we were considering reporting the agency to the property ombudsman for intentionally misleading clients by lying about offers. No need to say, months after the incident the property is still on the market.
3, offers are not communicated in writing, everything is "Verbal" - while other estate agents send you a written confirmation that they have received an offer, these things don't exist with Park Estates. These further increased our feeling of distrust towards the agent.
3, they have repeatedly published incorrect details on properties, like indicating a huge private garden whereas it was half as large and shared, or advertising properties that have been off the market for weeks.
4, Paul and Lewis we would be really glad to avoid dealing with in the future. They are the type who may consider themselves acting in the best interest of the seller, but while doing so they repeatedly cross the golden line of correctness or fairness. Communication in general has been a huge concern throughout our dealings with them.
After the disappointments above, we have decided that while Park Estates were marketing the property that we wished to purchase, we will rather wait for another property which will be marketed by someone else.
