After over 20 years in our home, it was time to move and we chose to go with Phillips and Still on the back of its recent ratings in Brighton as the "best sales branch of the year". They made an excellent job of presenting the property on their website and soon came up with plenty of prospects, managing all the viewings for us.
The second quarter of 2021 was a frantic time on the property market, coming out of the pandemic and a with a looming deadline with a stamp duty "holiday" due to finish at the end of June. A good solid buyer was soon found. Things had gone well so far but it was then that P and S really earned its keep. Senior negotiator Ollie Solomons was our main contact and impressed us during price negotiations with the buyer, doing his hardest to get us the best deal. After 20 odd years we were both pretty out of touch with the mechanics of property sales and he took time to keep us well briefed on where we were and helped and soothed us through what turned out to be a stressful couple of months, with all the uncertainties and ups and downs that seemingly everyone has to endure at that stage.
Anyway, to use an Ollie expression, he "got us over the line", with a few days to spare in fact. I'm aware that estate agents don't always have the best of reputations but there are some out there who will go the extra mile for you and do genuinely care about their clients. We certainly had one here. I'm pleased to recommend Phillips and Still and if I were ever selling a Brighton property again (heaven forfend!) I would certainly go back to them!
