Initially we dealt with Katarina and Chris in the early process of arranging the let. Later we interacted with other agents whose names I can\'t match with the specific interactions we had.
Overall, staff have been consistently polite, helpful, pleasant and willing to help. We have never had any unpleasant interactions with staff in any capacity.
We were very happy that though the landlord seemed quite happy for us to do a bit of repainting etc to suit ourselves, in the end he arranged for the job to be done himself and at his own cost.
One early disappointment we had was the realisation after we had paid an initial fee to secure the let, that the property was meant to be let furnished after all. When we first viewed the property with Katarina this was not made clear to us or else we would have declined the option at that point. My husband had told Choices on the phone in advance of viewing properties that we were looking for unfurnished. This because we were shipping our furniture from Trinidad.
Because of the property being so conveniently located and the landlord eventually expressing a willingness to compromise we agreed to let the property but we did have some stress around whether or not the landlord would follow through on moving enough of his furniture to make room for ours.
Subsequently we dealt with various agents in addressing issues that came up.
Later we had two problems which Choices was very responsive to: the presence of rats in the loft and a poorly functional heating system.
We had some minor complaints however for which we never saw any action in response, other than that they were also reported to a visiting inspector. These included a broken down fence in the back garden, a curtain rod that was falling down and a suspicion of missing tiles to the roof which the rat exterminator assured me he informed Choices about.
However when the landlord sorted out the boiler we raised these other issues with him and he took prompt action.
