We had an interesting experience with Sam Alexander, but not a pleasant one. In our first encounter things looked good, we were taken round some flats and actually decided to go for one. We quickly handed over a deposit and waited for confirmation. I then received a phonecall from Sam telling me that actually he had got the price of the flat wrong! and it was infact £30 a week more than we were told. This sounded pretty fishy to us so we pulled out and carried on looking. In fairness to Sam we got our deposit back pretty quickly.
Sam then rang us again saying he had found a great flat which we must go to see. Reluctantly we went along and in fact it was a very nice property which we agreed to take after some thought.
At this point we thought they had redeemed themselves as we had this lovely flat. What followed though was a very long winded and poorly communicated process of signing forms and getting references. Sam Alexander were terrible at replying with correct information in emails, misspelling important information and mixing up dates! Finally after all this hassle we got the flat.
The real problem has now reared its head. We were sold the flat on a short term lease with the reassurance that this was for our benefit in case we wanted to move and we could simply re-sign the lease after the short period. It turns out the landlord had no intention of us staying there longer than the short lease and is subsequently making us move after a very short stay. This detail was completely missold to us by Sam and they only get 2 stars rather than 1 because we at least enjoyed the time in the flat we had!
In summary - Disorganised, dishonest, expensive, difficult to contact and generally bad. If you have any other choice, don\'t deal with these guys.
