We have engaged Regents Estate Agents in Sunbury on Thames to sell our house. We had quotations from three different local agents and Brett Foulser gave us the most convincing reasons for his suggestion for the value of our property. Also, Brett was the only one of the agents I spoke to on the phone who actually turned up in person. This gave me a feeling of continuity which is important to us but which we did not get from the other agents.

Brett arranged for all of the Sunbury team to visit the property so that we could meet them all, and so that all of them could see the property so that they could conduct viewings in a confident and professional manner. (Whilst we were searching for our new property, on a few occasions we were shown properties by agents who had never seen the property before - this does not instil confidence). We have since been dealing with Amanda at Regents, but thanks to the handover from Brett, we did not lose the feeling of continuity.

Brett also did the photos for our property, which were excellent. During our search we have seen a huge variety in the quality of property photos used by various agents, from the excellent to the truly awful. The pictures Brett did of our house are as good as any we have seen.

After our chain was complete everything went quiet for a while. A number of phone calls to various parties in the chain soon revealed that the problem was the vendors who are two links above us. Having advertised their property as being "chain free", they were in fact renovating their new property whilst still living in the property they were selling. It became clear that they had absolutely no intention of moving out of their old property until they had turned their new property into another Buckingham Palace!

The agent we are buying from sat on his hands and basically said there was nothing he could do. Amanda then started dealing directly with the agents at the top of the chain, trying to establish dates for exchange and completion.

The chain at one point was on the verge of collapsing, when the people at the top, having agreed to a date for completion, changed their minds and wanted to move everything back several weeks.

However, Amanda finally managed to get everyone to agree a date, and we have now exchanged contracts. If it were not for Amanda\'s efforts, we are sure the whole chain would have collapsed, and we would be back to square one.
