Please do yourself the biggest favour and avoid Philip James at all costs. My problems with them started on the day of the viewing when I noticed a lot of irregularities in the apartment (broken bed, missing blinds, broken entry door lock), but I got promised they will be fixed before the move in date. They let me move in without any of them being fixed, they did not give me a post key or access codes for the complex/building and in the first week I discovered many other issues in the apartment. Even though I reported them within days, they never bother to deal with my complaints. They would never answer my calls or reply in time to my emails (I would get a response in a matter of weeks if lucky, Jodie and Lois are the most unprofessional people I had ever dealt with), they would never ever apologise for their negligence and they would mislead me with any chance they got (been told on two different occasions that the person dealing with my property is on annual leave, that the landlord needs to authorise the repairs first, that they are trying to find contractors etc). The only way to get hold of them is to actually go into their office and whenever that happened I was met with impertinence and condescending attitude. The blinds took 3 months to be replaced (they only replaced half of them and they are a completely different colour), our kitchen extractor fan broke in the first couple of months and they completely ignored that and yet the biggest of our problems was the damp and black mould buildup. I first noticed it at the very beginning of the tenancy and in less then a month it was clear that there was a big leak as the hallway walls looked seriously damaged and the condensation in the apartment was at an incredible level. When a plumber was eventually sent out, he did a botched job and left without finishing and nothing was done about the health threatening mould build up that has now extended to every room. I had to throw away a big pile of clothes because mould was literally growing on them, my furniture and other belongings got damaged, I spent my own money on a dehumidifier, I had to clean the mould myself and paint the walls numerous times because Philip James blatantly refused to do anything. I had to spend the whole lockdown in a hazardous environment with mould in every corner and mushrooms growing out of the damp carpet. More than 13 months into my tenancy and the mould is still there, the bed, door and extractor fan are still broken, one of the bathrooms is not usable and the people responsible to fix them are still incompetent. Philip James provided the most appalling customer service I have ever had and the only thing they are good at is being downright rude and abrupt, lie, give out slow and misleading information and rip you off.
