If you don't have time to read this review, here is a summary:
• Fyfe Mcdade will promise anything to sign you up and make you pay, then not fulfill their part of the deal.
• They broke the contract on day 1.
• Uses their leverage of them having your money and you don't have any alternative living situation to their advantage.
• Ignores complaints and is likely to ghost you for weeks.
• Most likely fake reviews. (***** was a manager I knew from the company and has rated it 5 stars, so I suspect others have done the same).
• They take more than a month to release your deposit.
• They take no responsibility for their employees' actions and expect you to be more flexible than a rubber band.
• £ 1650/m flats with countless problems such as humidity and mould, rodents, leaky roof and windows.

I will sleep better knowing I have helped someone dodge the torpedo sized bullet that hit me square in the face.

Now to the review:
My partner and I were shown a dirty flat in central London and were promised that everything worked, it would be professionally cleaned, and the internet was already set up and ready to use. The agent managed to "misunderstand" my foreign partner when talking about the break clause, and basically just ignored our request there and set that it was too late to change now as the landlord already agreed to other terms.
When we finished our preceding tenancy agreement we moved in on the same day. When they did not comply with any of those promises it left us with no other option than to clean the entire flat ourselves with a broom and dustpan since the vacuum didn't work.
The internet was not working either, so I was unable to get any work done from home for 12 days.
They apologised and said that as they did not clean it, we did not have to pay for cleaning either when we moved out (spoiler alert: we did).

Fast forward a bit and we start to notice a big humid spot on the wall in our bedroom and mould growing in the ceiling in the bathroom. That was the leaky roof... We were told that it was not dangerous, and we should just wipe down the mould and open the windows.
They had a guy our looking at the roof but it never got fixed, and every time it rained (which it does a lot in London), the spot on the wall got bigger. At a later time, the ceiling in the entrance was dripping but as this was not part of the flat itself, nothing was done about it.

Then we got rodents, and I think we have had about 6 people out over a period of 2 years looking at the apartment before they finally found a gaping hole of 30 cm in diameter behind the stove. We had poison and traps everywhere and I would guess we had like 10-15 mice.

As Fyfe Mcdade has a very high staff turnover, the agents are allowed to say ANYTHING that will make the company money, when the tenants realise what the agent promised back in the days, they are not working there anymore and the company just rejects all responsibility. Forget about written proof or verbal contracts...
You can literally ask them if you are allowed to hang up paintings and they say yes, no problem, but then they will charge you for not having painted the wall afterward when you get the deposit back... Yes, that happened.

I gave them so many chances to rectify their actions, to take responsibility, find compromises and provide just a grain of customer service.

***** was the only guy who I spoke to who had any kind of concern what their customers thought of them and he was polite and showed integrity. Unfortunately, it is not enough to lift the review up to 2 stars for the countless times they have disappointed. Just to clarify, it has not been one person at the company I dislike. This is multiple employees and the overall company policy of not caring how customers are treated, as long as they have already paid.

Well hey, why not take them to court? They violated the consumer Rights Act 2015 on different occasions. Time and money is the main issue here, I would most likely have won, but as a foreigner living in London, it could end up dragging out too long. I also did not have the luxury of having other places to live in. I needed to be in central London due to work commitments.

You might think I am an exception to the small sample size of people who have reviewed this company. I can assure you with all the problems I encountered during my tenancy period and how it was handled by different agents, there is no way I am an outlier. I recognised some of the employees’ names on the customer review site rating it 5 stars, but I guess that's just marketing done right...

I have chosen not to call out any of the employees who treated us so horribly as this is a review of the company as a whole.

If you are considering selling or renting your property or becoming a tenant at Fyfe Mcdade. I would think twice about it if I were you. In my opinion, companies with this kind of management should cease to exist.

should put your concerns in writing to the corresponding branch manager. The correspondence will be
acknowledged within 3 working days. The matter will then be investigated, and a full response sent to you
at the address or email address provided within 15 working days.
If you feel the matter remains unresolved then you need to address your complaint to a Director of Fyfe
Mcdade Ltd at 1 Charlotte Road, London, EC2A 3DH, who will conduct an investigation and respond with a
final viewpoint.
