I can't strongly enough advise you not to use LetCo. Unfortunately, I didn't read any reviews of them to begin with. Firstly, there is no issue with taking your money or even getting you signed up. The first issue came on key collection day, the person I was dealing with wasn't in the office, I was given a single key - No meters or other. I raised this 4 times during tenancy and had no response. I even had a request for a key to be cut for them as they didn't hold one (I dont think they are allowed to NOT hold a key for a letting property) The communication in general is very poor, phone never answered, emails take days to respond. Then we come to the checkout. Firstly, an extremely rude contractor appointed by LetCo to come and service the boiler (standard annual service) quizzing me on why I didn't hold a meter key - Explained it was never provided, and was met with "fucking hell" and the trouble that he now has to "come back yet AGAIN" then the checkout report was provided, with some minor issues ( 3 x picture hooks in wall to be re-filled, and some chips to the wooden paint on the bannister) - All fair deductions for which I stated I was happy to have taken from the deposit. Fearing the poor history of LetCo, I obtained a contractor quote - £120 including all labour, materials and VAT. LetCo have charged £230. Standard estate agent stereotypes being confirmed in the worst possible way. Avoid them, if you don't absolutely HAVE to use them.
