Simon recently sold our 2-bed flat in Meyrick Park Crescent, Bournemouth (no chain involved). It is a well maintained, top floor flat with a long lease and allocated parking space. In the beginning we put the flat on the market in Autumn 2018 when Brexit uncertainty was beginning to spook prospective buyers. After a slow start with six or so positive viewings we accepted an offer in September 2019. However, against the background of growing uncertainty, economic gloom and mortgage lending tightening the sale fell through in November 2019. The sales process was simply taking too long in such an uncertain time through no fault of Simon.
We took the flat off the market in December and decided to try again in January 2020. Following another six or so viewings we finally accepted an offer at the end of February 2020. Meanwhile, Covid-19 was making its presence felt and the property market was about to go into hibernation, not to mention solicitors being furloughed … Fortunately, the sale successfully completed in June 2020. Simon’s prompt feedback after viewings was excellent and we cannot stress enough the importance of good communications, particularly during times of uncertainty.
We are convinced that the sale went through against the odds because communication channels for buyer and seller were kept open and reassurances given when necessary. Big thank you from us, Simon.
