I am currently renting a property on behalf of your letting agency. I moved in this property on Thursday 25th October 2012. First of all I would like to say how appalled I am with the service that was provided. After viewing the property with Danielle, I received a call from Katie regarding how I felt about the property. I advised Katie we did like the house but it was out of our budget. Katie then advised me that would not be an issue and in her words ¢â‚¬Å“we can do it for the price I said¢â‚¬Â. Therefore we went ahead with the house. As our tenancy agreement was up with another letting agency in a couple of weeks, we believed everything was sorted, however when we went to sign the contract, my partner noticed that the fee was still the original price. We told Danielle we made an agreement with Katie that the price we was willing to pay; however neither of them had contacted the landlord to confirm this, which in my opinion was very unprofessional especially when Katie had to speak to the landlord in front of us and he at that point was disagreeing with the fee that we agreed with Katie. We over heard Katie tell the landlord that the property was valued at the price we said we could do, therefore we was definitely not going to pay anymore. What Katie should have done was contacted the landlord before agreeing the fees with us.
For a couple of weeks Katie and Danielle was negotiating with us and the landlord, which then I felt worried and that the agency has wasted valuable time for us to view other properties if the landlord would not agree, lucky they did.
On Thursday 25th October 2012 we went to collect the keys and sign all the paper work. We asked one of the staff Michelle if we move into the property today 25th will we pay the rent on the 25th of every month. She advised us this was correct. The reason I asked this question were because I get paid on the 24th. A few weeks ago I started to set up the standing order with you and came across the date of payment, which said the 22nd. Therefore my partner contacted the agency to raise this issue and the gentleman on the phone advised that it has to come out on the 22nd to be paid in the account for the 25th and also if we do not pay this on the 22nd we will risk a bad credit rate from Bridgfords..
We paid our month's rent advised by Bridgfords to the account given and on the 27th November 2012 we received a call from the landlord regarding the rent and that we haven't paid him. However we was advised by Bridgfords that we do not contact the landlord under no circumstance as we have to go directly through the agency for payments and faults with the property as I recall they explaining to us about their maintenance department. Although we did advise this to the landlord and he was strongly disagreeing with this term. Therefore I called the letting department for some help regarding this situation, Michelle has now advised me that we do go through the landlord and the payment should go through to the landlord. I told her we was advised that we come through you which now she has realized the information we have received was incorrect and she will then send out the landlord details for payment. Katie then called advising they gave us the incorrect details and after Michelle just advising me she would send the correct details, Katie then said they have nothing to do with the landlord and I need to get his details my self. I am absolutely furious with all the issues we have to deal with, within this letting agency and it has only been just over a month we have dealt with them. I then wanted to make an official complaint about the Manchester branch, however they would not give me details on whom to contact for complaints. After phoning various branches I eventually got an email address and sent a complaint. later Katie the colleague I complained about called to apologies even though I did appreciate an apology, the reason I wanted to go above her was wanting someone hire to contact me. However I am in 12 month contract with Bridgfords (gutting) I know but I will never use this company ever again.
