I began letting properties almost by accident in 1985 when I got a teaching job with accommodation provided. Our first letting experience was NOT with Leaders and was not really a happy one - when we returned after 5 years the place was quite a mess and we were told it was what we should expect. In the early 90s we sold that house and bought a better one in Southsea where Leaders was the local agent with the best window. From the beginning we were impressed by everything about them and everything went very smoothly. We mostly had excellent tenants but on the one occasion this was not the case, Leaders dealt with us and the tenants with appropriate sensitivity so that they left with no bad feelings and new tenants were immediately brought in. Meanwhile we had bought another property in Cardiff which we also started to let but with another agent. We had to try three different agents there before we found a satisfactory one and even then it was rather amateur beside the polished professionalism of Leaders. In the new millenium we were able to buy another property in Waterlooville. At first we let it through the agents who had sold us the house but after a year of their fuzzy accounts, unclear communication and excessive charges for minor repairs, we changed to Leaders and everything has run smoothly with them ever since. We also have another flat in Godalming which was originally let by a small family firm (almost as good as Leaders and with some great characters on the staff!) but we were not disappointed when this was taken over by Leaders with their usual efficiency and diplomacy. So from initial advertising to vetting of potential tenants to letting, management, clear accounts and timely communication I have no heisitation in recommending Leaders as top quality letting agents who fully justify their charges. They remove all the strain, stress and uncertainty from me while at the same time keeping me in a position of informed control.
