Hello
I Live in Brighton and have been settled in the same Apartment near the Marina for over 9 years. So when a Dear friend and Her Husband wanted to RE-LOCATE to BRIGHTON for WORK on the 2nd January 2020 (2 Weeks Away) I offered to Help View any Flats or Studio's for them whilst they were still Living and Working in London. I would relay all the relevant information that 'All Tenants Paying Very Very High Rents' want to Know for Peace of Mind, Hygiene, Comfort and Safety.
I wasn't calling 'Any Estate Agents' I left that responsibility that My Friend in Her Middle Thirties and Her Husband around 40. I was just going to 'Pop to viewings and Give Quick, Constructive and Truthful Answers to My Friend on My return.
First Viewing was 'SHANKLIN ROAD' a rabbit warren of streets around Lewes Road and Next to a 'GRAVE YARD'. Never heard of this Shanklin Road and trying to Get to Ut from Elm Grove on Foot and ask 'The LOCALS'they had NEVER HERD OF SHANKLIN ROAD either??????
Well last Friday 13th December and setting out on Foot up Manor Hill to Lewes Road was easy and got to beginning of Lewes Road very quick and as planned and then the FUN began . My appointment with an Agent from BELVIOR ESTATE AND LETTING AGENCY WAS AT 2pm ( I won't give the REAL NAME- I am NOT THAT CRUEL-EVEN THO THEY SEEM TO BE) and trying to FIND 'This Mysterious SHANLKIN ROAD' was started to dawn........I WENT INTO A FEW SHOPS ALONG LEWES ROAD 'EXCUSE ME DO YOU KNOW WHERE SHANKLIN ROAD IS'......YEAH...IT's Behind SAINSBURYS...ONTO THE NEXT LOCAL.....'NO IT'S FURTHER UP BEHIND SAINSBURYS.
By this time 'IT's POURING IT DOWN WITH RAIN AT 2.20pm' on LEWES ROAD and I HAVE STARTED RECEIVING CALLS FROM THE HOVE BELVIOR OFFICE ( WHILST TRYING TO DODGE POT HOLES AND UMBRELLAS' in the 2.30 PRE SCHOOL MAD RUSH ON LEWES ROAD 'LOOKING FOR SHANKLIN ROAD' THAT EVERYONE HAS HEARD OF....BUT NOBODY KNOWS WHERE IT IS.
EVEN 'THE DAILY ALE AND AFTERNOON BEER DRINKERS' HANGING OUTSIDE THE FEW PUBS- LOCAL ON LEWES ROAD ' HAVING A QUICK SMOKE'. DIDN'T HAVE A GLUE......BECAUSE I DID ASK THEM.
AGAIN 5 MINUTES LATER. THE HOVE HEAD OFFICE CALLING....WHERE ARE YOU? I SAID I AM LOST .....THIS BACK ALLEY OF A STREET IS THAT ' BELVIOR ARE ADVERTISING AS A 1 BED FLAT SO DELICATELY AND MYSTERIOUS 'IS NOW CAUSING ME STRESS AND MY 'BLOOD PRESSURE IS STARTING TO INCREASE' and 'WITH THE HARD PELTING RAIN' PREVIOUS and STARTING AGAIN ,MY GLASSES TO BE MORE OF A DISABILITY THAN ABILITY.
I WAS ON LEWES ROAD JUST GOING ROUND IN CIRCLES BETWEEN TO CO-OP AND SAINSBURYS and a LITTLE BIT ALONG LEWES ' JUST IN CASE I HAVE MISSED THIS SHANKLIN ROAD' and AN ALIEN HAS LANDED.
WELL 'MY PHONE WENT AGAIN'..... BELVIOR HOVE IT WAS AGAIN . SORRY @AGENT HAS HAS GOT TO GO NOW...SHE HAS GOT OTHER APPOINTMENTS -OTHER VIEWING ...CAN'T BE HANGING AROUND.
WELL I WAS TRAPPED IN A DILEMMA OF ANXIETY, RAPID RAIN DOWN POURS and
NERVOUS ABANDONEMENT ON LEWIS ROAD FOR AT LEAST 20 MINUTES...TRYING TO FIND THIS HIDDEN GEM ' SHANKLIN ROAD'... WHY DIDN'T THE AGENT WHO ' WAS PROBABLY IN THE NEXT STREET WAITING FOR ME TO TURN UP'......CALL ME AND TRY AND NAVIGATE ME TO SHANKLIN ROAD NEXT TO THE LEWES ROAD GRAVE YARD.....OR BETTER STILL 'PUT HER SELF OUT AND ACTUALLY PROVIDE GOOD OLD FASHIONED GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. BUT THIS 'BELVIOR LETTING AGENT CAN'T 'BECAUSE SHE IS NOT ALLOWED A PHONE' (SHE MUST BE NEAR 30's SO HOPEFULLY MATURE ENOUGH TO ANSWER THE PHONE) WHO KNOWS ?????? BUT IT WAS LIKE WAKLIE TAKLIE.....TAKLIE WAKLIE...WITH HOVE HEAD OFFICE JUST CALLING EVERY FEW MINUTES 'WHERE ARE YOU' ARE YOU NEAR THE GRAVE YARD SIDE YET ( SHANKLIN ROAD IS JUST THERE)....IT's NEAR THE GRAVE SIDE on THE LEFT-RIGHT-LEFT-2nd RIGHT-3RD RIGHT PAST THE 2 SQUIRRELS HAVING A PISS TAKE..I DON'T KNOW WHO THIS 'AGENT WAS 'BUT SHE NEEDS A PROPER REST FROM THE PHONE' GOOD COP. BAD COP......AND THEY ARE FLOGGING OVER EXPENSIVE AND OVER DESCRIPTIVE DINGY . COLD LEAKING ROOMS . WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE IF THEY HD BEEN A BIT MORE CARING , CONSIDERATE AND CUSTOMER FOCUSED .....I AM MID 50's RUNNING ROUND BRIGHTON LIKE A MAD PERSON ALONG LEWES ROAD in THE PIUSS POURING RAIN TRYING TO FIND THIS DUMPY OVER EXPENSIVE 1 BED FLAT IN SHANKLIN ROAD NEXT TO A GRAVE YARD. WELL BELVIOR LETTING AGENCY.....BE A BIT MORE HELPFUL ( YOU ARE IN THE SERVICE INDUSTRY AND MORE HANDS ON.....YOUR COMPANY CAME ACROSS LIKE -YOU WERE ALL IN THIS JOB JUST FOR THE MONEY) and REGARDLESS HOW YOU PORTRAY YOURSELVES ON YOUR LETTINGS BOARDS. ESTATE AGENTS ARE LIKE BANKERS------IT'S ALL TARGETS-TARGETS-TARGETS-TARGETS. FAIR ENOUGH .PEOPLE LOVE THE BUZZ OF MAKING MONEY...BUT JUST DON''T GO NEAR PEOPLE ....I AM 56 YEARS OF AGE.....QUITE A WISE AND PROFESSIONAL OLD FOOL.....AND I HAVE NEVER COME ACROSS SOME MANY UPSIDE DOWN CLUMSY MISHAPS, BACK TO FRONT WAYS OF DELIVERING GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND REALLY JUST AN ARROGANT AND IGNORANT WAY OF STOMPING AROUND AND SLOPPING AROUND BRIGHTON TRYING TO MAKE A DOLLAR. YOU MIGHT HAVE GOOD REVIEWS ON YOUR PAGE BUT THESE ARE CLIENTS THAT ARE PROBABLY TRYING TO GET IN YOUR GOOD BOOKS FOR NEXT YEAR...THE POWER YOU MUST HOLD LOL .WELL YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS AND PEOPLE SKILLS ARE SHXXTE AND YOU NEED TO TELL FUTURE TENANTS AND COMMUNICATE THAT NEXT TO THIS FLAT ON SHANKLIN ROAD .TO ME BECAUSE EVENTUALLY I DID WALK PAST THIS GRAVE YARD TUNNEL PASS .ON THE WAY HOME TO MANOR HILL.AND LAST FRIDAYS SOME OLD BOYOS SIPPING THE FROSTY JACKS AND ROLLIES and SOME BIKES AND PIECES AND SKIPS AND PEOPLE IN PJAMAS HAVING A QUICK DRINK OUTSIDE THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING.
SHOW A BIT OF CARE....YOU MIGHT GET IT BACK. NOT EVERYONE LOOKS LIKE A DOLLAR.
AND IMPROVE ON YOUR MANNERS AND RESPECT FOR OTHER PEOPLE AND TREAT THEM 'LIKE YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE TREATED YOURSELF'.
AT THIS POINT IN TIME' I HAVE ADVISED MY FRIEND WHO IS ALSO OF AN AGE THAT IS HARDER TO MAKE A FOOL OF, TO STAY AWAY.
I WOULDN'T EVEN 'TRUST YOU AS AN AGENCY TO TAKE MY DOG TO THE KENNELS'.
YOU HAVE BAD WORK ETHICS AND AND GRANDEUR THAN THO MANNERS'>
LEARN FROM FEEDBACK....IT WILL MAKE YOU A STRONGER PERSON and TEAM

Extremely transparent and reasonable. By no means 'bargain bucket' as they do offer an extremely comprehensive service, but don't charge you the world for it!!
