In our 9 years of renting property in London trying to sign an agreement with Bective Leslie Marsh has by far been the worse. After making a generous offer and changing it three times in order to meet the landlords extensive requirements (long term only, breakable only at 18months, quartlerly payments only) , the agent accepted our offer, send through the contract and made us go through a stringent referencing process. We made our current landlords, employers and accountants provide references, agreed to credit checks an spent long hours finding the necessary evidence. At the end of the process and when all was completed the agent informed us than the landlord had in fact given the flat to someone else. We had even informed our current property of our leaving day. What more can we say...

Dear George
I am very sympathetic for the position you find yourself in. I feel it is important to put forward the full picture. As you are aware, there were multiple offers on the property when you initially offered hence the various negotiations in getting your offer agreed subject to contract and references. Once you had put down a deposit the property was withdrawn from the market immediately and there have been no viewings since. One of the potential tenants that had seen the property previously subsequently put forward an offer that we as agents are legally obliged to put forward to the landlord. The landlord made the decision to go with another party. I'm sure you can understand that Bective act as the agent alone and that the final decision lies with them. This is most unfortunate for you and shows the competitive nature of the market. We will do all we can do find you an alternative property. Fiona

Fiona was a breathe of fresh air to deal with. An agent who actually does have local knowledge. Throughout the process I felt reassured that I was in good hands. Would definitely recommend fiona if you are thinking of letting out your property....

This organisation optimises the poor reputation of London based estate agencies through their malicious attempts to get as much money from their clients as possible, whilst unapologetically avoiding accountability and responsibility as much as they can. At the beginning, during property viewings, I was lied ...
