Steer clear of Property Moves. They are sweetness and light to get you in and by the end of it you will hate them. There were issues that we reported at check in that were never resolved in all the 2.5 years we were in our last place. The place was dirty and we spent all day cleaning. However, when we moved out we got a professional cleaner to clean at a cost of £300 and they still took £400 of our deposit. We moved out shortly after the law changed and as we were still under the old rules in our contract they rinsed us for everything they could get. Charging us for check out, references, a copy of the inventory etc etc and surprise surprise they took the same amount from our deposit that they lost on the deposit with the new law. Scammers and cheats. I would never use them again and I'd advise you not to either.

Thank you for your review, I am sorry to hear you were disappointed by the service provided. I do feel the review of 1 star is not a true reflection of how the whole tenancy went as you were in residence for around 2.5 years and seem to be basing it purely on the deposit return, however you are of course entitled to your opinion. Please let me deal with your points in order;

Reviewing the issues you reported at the start I can see a contractor was recalled to review these as the house at just been refurbished and the first time we had let the property. Reviewing maintenance that was reported during your tenancy I feel it was dealt with in a timely manner.

In reference to cleaning and you saying it was dirty at the start of the tenancy, as mentioned above the property was newly refurbished and perhaps there was an element of dust settlement even though had been cleaned 2 days prior to your occupation. Reviewing the notes on screen from when you do move in I can’t see a mention of the cleaning being an issue but only that the builders had left some rubble and wheelbarrow in the back garden.

With regards to your comment about the deposit its quite misleading for people reading this review, £375 was in fact deducted from the deposit and not all for cleaning as indicated (£201 cleaning, £174 for decoration). The monies deducted pays the cleaner and the decoration compensation goes direct to the landlord.

The rent was reviewed after 18 months of you living at the property and increased in line with market conditions and other comparable houses in the local area. In my personal opinion the rent you were paying was under the market value even with the increase. To give readers an idea of the property it was let for another £50pcm to the new tenants and even then at the point of marketing its was the cheapest 3/4 bedroom house in that area by £100pcm.

I am a bit confused by your last comment with regards to the deposit, just to clarify the deposit is there to cover damages etc to the property and the change in law would have no bearing on the matter. On the subject of fees, you signed and agreed to the terms of the tenancy in March 2017 and we were within our rights to enforce charges outlined in this contract.

In conclusion I feel your final comment is neither true or helpful, you were good tenants which the landlord obviously appreciated and reviewing the file I feel as a company we maintained a professional stance throughout the tenancy.

COMPLAINTS
Property Moves complaints procedure

We are committed to providing a professional service to all our clients and customers. When something goes wrong, we need you to tell us about it. This will help us to improve our standards.

If you have a complaint, please put it in writing, including as much detail as possible. We will then respond in line with the timeframes set out below (if you feel we have not sought to address your complaints within eight weeks, you may be able to refer your complaint to the Property Ombudsman to consider without our final viewpoint on the matter).

WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT?
We will send you a letter acknowledging receipt of you complaint within three working days of receiving it, enclosing a copy of this procedure.
We will then investigate your complaint. This will normally be dealt with by the office manager who will review your file and speak to the member of staff who dealt with you. A formal written outcome of our investigation will be sent to you within 15 working days of sending the acknowledgement letter.
If, at this stage, you are still not satisfied, you should contact us again and we will arrange for a separate review to take place by a senior member of staff.
We will write to you within 15 working days of receiving your request for a review, confirming our final viewpoint on the matter.
If you remain dissatisfied, you can then contact The Property Ombudsman to request an independent review:
