Abhorrent service received over the past two days with Didsbury branch of Julian Wadden. Attended a viewing of a property which was really nice, perfectly suited my needs. Called the office to put down a deposit before even leaving the property, only to be told that someone else had considered putting a deposit down already (?), so they asked for further details (about my job, income, living arrangements) and said that they would contact the landlord immediately to see what they wished to do. During this call, I reiterated the time pressure I was under due to my job situation and making a deposit on another property. I did not hear back for over 3 hours (5:20pm). Apparently the landlord wanted to go with the other viewer as they would agree to a longer contract than I would - fair enough, that’s fine I thought. Then I was told however, that they could not get in contact with the other viewer so offered me the chance to have a call back at 9am the following day, and if the other viewer did not get in touch by then, then I would be able to pay the deposit and secure the property. 10:30am comes, no contact. I call several times throughout the day only to be told the agent’s ‘out of the office’, ‘in a meeting’, ‘at a viewing’. Finally at 3pm I am able to speak to the agent, to be told that the other viewer had paid their deposit the previous night. After all this run around, I have missed out on two other properties and will now be delayed starting my new job. Whilst trying to explain my displeasure with this agent’s service on the phone, I am interrupted to be told that there are other properties available and they would be happy to show me these! No thank you. No excuse for not taking 30 seconds to make a phone call and let me know! Very poor service.

Not only do they have the audacity to charge 60% of the rent as their fee(!!) But they do absolutely nothing to earn it. Useless and lazy and incompetent. Letting agent knew nothing about the property. The management company sits at their computer answering emails but ...
