We bought our first rental property in 2002 and have since added 4 more. They are all let and managed by Oaks. Over the past 10 years, we have always been impressed by how smoothly they run everything. The accounts department works like clockwork and on the odd occasion when a tenant has been late with the rent, this has been flagged up and dealt with promptly. We also appreciate the way that Mr Milsom builds up a relationship with the tenants - this seems to smooth the way for tenants to report any problems with the properties which means that, say, a small leak is dealt with quickly - the tenant is happy and we are too, as costs are kept down. But without doubt, the aspect we find the most valuable is that when a maintenance issue or something like a faulty boiler arises, Mr Milsom explains the problem and offers us a choice of solutions and costings at the same time - he\'s usually already arranged for a contractor(s) to visit the house. It is therefore very quick and easy for us to make a decision and Mr Milsom makes all the arrangements with the contractor and we don\'t have to get involved at all. Every single contractor (be it a tree surgeon, plumber, glazier, builder or decorator) he has recommended has been excellent and a good price. So much so, two of them have done work on our own home. Mr Milsom also managed a big conversion/refurbishment project on one of the properties and everything went to schedule and came in exactly on budget - no small feat. In summary, were we to buy another house or flat, we would only have it managed by Oaks, particularly Mr Milsom, as they take away all the pain of owning a rental property.
