I ranked this as \'Terrible\' because there was not a lower category. Without a doubt the most inept and unprofessional organisation I have ever had to deal with. Their service fell over at just about every stage of the letting process. Starting with poor pictures of the property on their web site accompanied by descriptions which were full of spelling mistakes. House also listed as a two bedroom semi when it is a three bedroom property. I asked for no boards outside the house but guess what, I got boards and it took a week to remove them.
Often let down on viewing appointments with no phone call or text contact. I would suggest that there was zero vetting of prospective tenants before viewings. Contracts presented for signature were coffee stained, dog eared and mistakes crossed of with ball point pen.
Had to remind Smith Melzack when contract was up for renewal in the same month that it was due. When tenants moved out it took two months and many phone calls for Smith Melzack to sort out the deposit.
Aggravation all the way, very poor customer service, admin is appalling and would never use their services again and would certainly not recommend them. Marks out of ten, they would struggle to get one. Thankfully property was re-let through other agents. I will never darken their doorstep again. Happy to supply more detail if ever required.
What agent could do to change your mind?
Provide a professorial service equal to or better than all the other letting agents I have used.
