I am a landlord and as soon as problems were encountered with my tenants, Purple Bricks tried to cancel our service agreement because it was "taking up too much of their time" - yes that was actually the reason. Basically the message is, Purple Bricks are happy to take your money provided they don't have to do much more than process the rent payment. Otherwise they will ignore your emails, not answer your phone calls and if you demand that they actually do their job properly they will try to get out of the contract. If you use them to get a tenant then ok (ish), but DO NOT PAY FOR PROPERTY MANAGEMENT, the people who manage the property are not the same people who market it and consequently they have never seen your property and are COMPLETELY CLUELESS on how to manage it. They dont seem to have any knowledge of property law. THEY DO NOT REPRESENT THE LANDLORDS BEST INTEREST, THEY ARE ONLY INTERESTED IN WHAT IS THE LEAST HASSLE FOR THEMSELVES, which is basically to do nothing. In fact, they are worse than doing nothing, because they actually create problems. It would have been easier to manage the property myself. I BITTERLY REGRET INSTRUCTING PURPLE BRICKS.
