Our house was very individual as we had extended and renovated it throughout. And we knew it would be tricky to put a valuation on it when it came to seliing it ¢â‚¬â€œ so we engaged four different Estate Agents to view our house in order to get their feedback and their market valuation. There was a huge variation in pricing with the top price being £100,000 more than the lowest. We had to find the right agent to market our property... This difficult decision was actually made fairly easy for us, as when we met Nik Keegan from Hursts Estate Agent, he seemed to make sense immediately. He really understood what our properties\' potential was and he appraised the value according to not only the high \'finish\' and quality of internal fittings/floorings etc... but of the lifestyle it could offer a family... ie: not just square-footage! Hursts\' valuation was not the highest ¢â‚¬â€œ but it was significantly higher than our lowest and he could justify (with back-up) why he valued it as he did. We trusted him and his approach and importantly - we liked him. Hursts went on to take great photos of our home. And Lucy who was also working on our behalf kept us informed - with how the marketing materials were all coming on etc, and was always very helpful and honest after the viewings we had. In a slow climate we had three initial viewings. One of these was the couple who went on to buy our house. They took their time deciding on our house, they really loved it - but it really was Nik and Lucy who worked really hard in giving them the confidence of their purchase - taking a lot of time to show them around and could talk them through all of the benefits of the work we had had done to our house. Our house sold in 4 weeks in the Summer of 2012. If we had gone with one of the agents, who were far less enthused by our property - we may not have sold our house as quickly but it would also have meant losing a considerable amount of money because of their low valuations. So we can strongly recommend Hursts in High Wycombe.
