From start to finish H&B lettings were atrocious. We were in contact with them for weeks before taking up our let however, on areiving at their offices on the day that we went in to sign the tenancy agreement, I was told that I had to provide 3 months of bank statement. When I refused and threatened to walk away, the attitude of the staff changed and the lady in question refused to come into the front office area, instead leaving another member of staff to deal with it.
We have subsequently moved put of the property having given and served our notice. I have today (after requesting it) recieved an inventory check from them which states that the property was not clean and despite numerous emails to them stating issues with property, they have proceeded to annotate these issues as if they were our our making. Needless to say I luckily have both photographic and video evidence of the property to send to the DPS which disprove the H&B check list.
We have also unfortunately had the displeasure of buying a home through H&B. Whilst certain individuals within the sales team were great, others shouldn't be in a customer related business. On giving notice to the above mentioned tenancy we clearly told H&B of certain times and dates that we would be available for viewings. They on a number of occasions didn't listen and booked viewings at their will expecting to conduct them without us present or even knowing. When we disagreed they bombarded both myself and my partner with phone calls and emails trying to arrange further viewings. In the end I had to quote tenancy agreement and UK regulations regarding tenants rights to them before they would cease.
On ending the tenancy they refused to conduct the handover with us present and have subsequently conducted it with the landlord and problems with the property, that have previously been raised, have now been added to our inventory. I have disputed these claims and am Bosnian the process of utilising the DPS to get my deposit back... something which we have never had to do before.
The manner in which the lettings staff converse with customers and the language used within their emails is at best unprofessional and is often short, snappy and rude. A very unhelpful office unless they are getting something out of you. They do the absolute minimum of work to achieve their goals of lettings.
On a whole lettings department- avoid like the plague. Sales department - often good but let down by the odd individual who I suspect possibly isn't a permanent member of the sales team.
