Georgina dealt with us from the initial consult/evaluation. The information provided from the start was very thorough and tailored to our situation (about to move overseas) and rent out our home.
We liked the agent, Georgina, and the Stow Bros brand. Like most people looking to buy or rent in the east London area, you come across a subset of agents that service the area and their Rightmove ads (specifically the photos) always caught our attention (both for Sales and Rentals).
We knew we wanted a fully managed service as timezones would be problematic. We spoke with a number of other agents but many appeared more interested in turning the property into a HMO and making as much money off the property as possible (which didn't sit well with us for a number of reasons). We also looked at online agents who charged much lower fees but didn't have the same reputation (peace of mind and trust was important). We were able to negotiate with Stow Bros to get to a place whereby we were both happy.
The next steps were getting contracts signed, photos taken, the advert blurb written/reviewed, etc. All of which was relatively smooth - although the first draft of the blurb had some copy/paste errors from presumably another advert. That all got sorted out quickly and they marketed the property well, appealing to a broad range (professionals, young families, etc.).
Stow Bros communicated all viewings to us via email in advance, which was great. They had a large number of viewings on the first Saturday after the advert had been published. It generated a lot of interest and garnered two offers. We met with any tenants that seemed good on paper which was reassuring given that we were hoping to rent our home (rather than an investment property). However, we didn't find tenants which we were happy with. For example, some intended to have a greater number of tenants staying at the property than had been initially outlined which would have increased wear and tear on the property.
We worked with Georgina to reduce the rental price to ensure the property was affordable to the number of tenants that we had in mind. It got a little bit nerve-racking before we were due to leave the country (as we were on a tight/accelerated schedule) but thankfully Georgina found, what we hope, are good tenants. I was able to meet them briefly on the day that I was due to fly out of the country on holidays.
It's early days but thus far, Georgina in particular has been great. I would recommend her, and Stow Bros, with respect to identifying suitable tenants and marketing the property. We have, as yet, not had to rely on Stow Bros to provide any managed services so I can't comment at this point.
