Our experience with Purple Bricks was (all the way) very unrespectful & dodgy. Just for example, when we asked about lack of parking spaces on the street, we were told we also okay to park next door, by that big building front of our flat. Sounds very good, just only one problem with it, it is absolutely not true. Parking is restricted and available only with a valid UK CPM permit. Parking charge is £100.
October 25-28th (rental) Property viewing in 12 Saunders Park View, Brighton, BN2 4AY by Purple Bricks. We have found property in bad condition, carpet dirty, walls are dirty and chipped, nails in walls, doors-doorframes dirty and chipped , a 5cm 10cm hole on kitchen wall. We pointed out the problems right away, Purple Bricks agents promised "carpet will be cleaned and flat will be painted and cleaned".
We were told like this too: "you not able to move into the flat right away, because the flat is going to be painted. so give minimum 2 weeks to the landlord, and for the painters".
We were told by Purple Bricks flat will be ready with above conditions, so we wanted the flat very much and the offer & the deal sounded good, so we offered £75 extra / month for the flat. Listed price was £1025 / month. We have offered £1100 / month, later this price was entered in the tenancy agreement.
October 31th 2018, referencing fee of £118.80 was paid.
November 23rd: We paid 6 weeks deposit and 1 month rent with £90 inventory fee, total £2846.8 (with the referencing fee paid earlier). It was transfered from my account to Purple Bricks bank account.
Saturday Nevember 24th 2018 (tenancy starting date, key handover, inventory) We were shocked to see the flat wasn't painted, carpet dirty, everything in same condition, just like in viewing time. Non of Purple Bricks promise was delivered, so our deal and agreement was broke by Purple Bricks. Our offer of extra £75/ month price is remained in the tenancy agreement and it is unfair!
We were dealing with Purple Bricks directly, so we know Purple Bricks tricked us and not the landlord.
During our discussion about how to get forward, Purple Bricks admitted lack of action, breach & took responsibility of the fault. As compensation they are trying to organise the paint job, but we are not sure this is the right thing to do. We are already in the flat with 2 small child.
