Please, please, please, please never ever use this company !! Unfortunately they managed our block of flats for three years and left us with a hole in the ceiling of our lounge for 10 months of this time. It took two years to resolve (through the insurance, as John Mortimer were incapable of providing anything remotely like customer service) the issues, from the point we first made them aware of a damp problem in the flat. They used any number of excuses to tell us there was no damp issues, and even when the ceiling finally cracked and we had rain water dripping down on to our TV and wires, they still didn\'t seem to think there was a problem. I have approx 200 emails saved, as it was impossible to ever contact any member of staff, they wouldn\'t take your call, they failed to respond, and could go weeks and months without ever coming back to you on any queries. Apart from having a gaping hole in the ceiling in the lounge, we also had brickwork that kept cracking off, leaving falling debris and further damp issues - again JM sent a selection of inadequate and quite frankly inept companies to try and fix. The area manager, Ross Kemp (honestly !) had to be seen to be believed. He resolved no issues with the flat in the whole time we lived there, never returned our calls and then claimed he had no reason to apologise for any of the issues, including the hole in the ceiling and the water running down the walls ! During our endless attempts to contact members of their team, we had the misfortune to deal with a selection of their staff who can only be described as rude, ignorant and having a complete lack of knowledge of anything remotely related to customer service. After endless complaints and chasing we finally had to register our dissatisfaction with John Mortimer himself, only to finally get a response to our letter over a month later, because he \'had been suffering from a cold\'. Without doubt the worst company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with - even when we finally moved out there were outstanding issues with the structure of the building which JM had inspected over 8 weeks previously, but had still not taken any further action. PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS !
