I have agreed a deal on a property for sale that both Boultons and another Estate Agent had for sale at the same time. I went with the other Estate Agent.
Boultons are aware of my purchase and the vendor has told them to take down the listing - but they are refusing to mark it Sold STC.
Here's the interesing part: If I bought throiugh Boultons - they WOULD have marked it Sold STC - so this makes me feel they are effectively supporting gazumping because by listing for sale this hugely increases my chance of this. They assured me they wouldn't do that - so why not mark Sold STC? There is simply no excuse for it.
They have further told me that, because I've not bought through them, they cannot physically mark the property "Sold STC". I have checked with the Estate Agent I'm purchasing through and another Agent (who is a friend and has worked for two other agencies in the area) - all who inform me this is nonsense. They can mark the item sold, for sale and sold again a hundred times a day if they wanted to. Therefore I have also been lied to.
I am sharing this review to warn others as I do not see this company as ethical. If they are ignoring their customer's request (the vendor) then what else are they capable of?
We are looking to buy 3-4 properties each year. All Boultons have done is made themselves look bad, wasted my time and have instilled the fact that I will never buy any properties they list for sale.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
