We have found Harringtons to be incompetent in the full management of our properties, this is supported by the Property Ombudsman who upheld the following complaints we made. 1-Insufficient & substandard referencing resulting in tenants being allowed in one of our properties who should never have passed referencing and resulted in 18 months of unpaid rent and a badly damaged and neglected property. 2 - a non existent inspection service. 3 - tenants identity check & insurance check that there is no proof or evidence of. 4- the use of process servers that they charged us for, not part of any agreement & without authorisation. 5-deductions from deposit for unauthorised non essential works with no proof that they had been carried out. 6- Total lack of communication, didn't reply to emails or phone calls causing a lot of distress at a very difficult time. 7- Tenancy renewal process that failed leaving us no time to give notice to tenants in our other property so we could sell at a time we really needed to. The Ombudsman did leave the option open of taking Harringtons to court but due to the financial situation we were left in this was not an option. We have been left financially ruined by Harringtons incompetence and feel very strongly that the public should be aware of our experience before entrusting their property to Harringtons. We entrusted them with a high end property and they gave us back a badly damaged, uninhabitable property that we could neither rent or sell
