I had a flat rented through Belvoir Lettings in Swindon in early 2017. I was in the property for 1 year and 10 months. Upon handing over it back to the letting agency, I was asked to pay to repaint the two walls of one bed room. They were not damaged but looked used. The agent did not have anything to complain other than that because everything was in very good condition. I had to pay 95 GBP for two walls in the two bed room flat. According to the tenancy agreement , reasonable wear and tear of the property has to be taken care of by the Land Lord. Nor did the agreement have any clause saying that I had to do repainting the walls. But there were clauses regarding other fittings, equipment etc. The land lord came to fix a few other things in the bath rooms and the kitchen too during my stay. But the agent said that I should pay even if it was not in the contract and told me that if I did not pay, they would not release the deposit. So I gave in finally given my time constraint and I paid 95 GBP.
