My daughter rented a property from these sharks... My advice is READ the small print and make sure you know what you are getting into with this agency, especially what fees they charge on renewal, early leaving, and leaving.

They have admin fees all over the place, on renewal, on trying to vacate the property early, on leaving the property, and when the property was vacated they wanted a full weeks advance rent when, even though they had received they keys back and my daughter had vacated the premises, giving the excuse it was needed to prepare for the next tennant.

They then came back with a further fee for cleaning of £60+ pounds when the flat was left in a clean state and better condition than it was when she took the property as well as asking for another £10 rent when it was themselves that gave her the final rent figure.

Property was vacated by my daughter nearly 2 weeks ago and still no return of deposit, so seeking advice from the deposit scheme.

To me they are just trying to screw as much money out of you as they can. Wouldnt touch them with a barge pole next time!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get everything in writing as well.
What agent could do to change your mind?
If the agent waived the cleaning fee, the further admin fee, the weeks rent paid (when they had the possession of the flat!!!), and in future clearly highlighted what all costs involved would be it would go a long way to putting this right. Seems they dont want to know or just dont care.

We do charge a resign fee just like other agents and we also charge a fee if the tenant wishes to break the contract and leave early. The landlord cannot be expected to pay another let fee to find a new tenant just because a tenant wants to break a legal contract.
The comment about a full weeks advance rent when the property was vacated makes no sense at all unless the tenant did break their contract and leave early in which case she was liable for rent until the new tenant moved in.
Deposits are returned 10 working days after proof of final utility bills is provided which is in the tenancy agreement.
