From day 1 they were a nightmare. They charged us an extortionate amount of fees and we were promised that it's because they don't charge renewal or exit fees however this was untrue. I was unable to be present for the handover on move in day. They didn't let me look at the inventory just forced my husband to sign it and then emailed it to us, when i received the email I noticed the photos are old because the walls are a different colour and the light fixtures were different. Would never be accommodating at all, would show up unannounced, not do repairs, avoid all responsibility. I was sleeping after nightshift and awoke to a random man standing in the bathroom which turned out to be a plumber they had sent, well I called them they denied everything saying that they don't have a responsibility to tell me that that is meant to be done by the plumber himself but yet they gave him the keys to get into our house. They forced us to have a gardener come and only after I made a complaint did one of the new staff tell me it's not in our contract to have a gardener so if we didn't want her there we were within our rights to say no. They made us do 3 monthly inspections but then would be late or wouldn't show up at all. They declined letting us extend our tenancy but then when the landlord decided he no longer wanted to move back in they demanded we extend after we already found a new house and then they refused to give us a reference unless we paid them for it (all they need to do was confirm how long we had lived there for). They threatened to terminate our tenancy when my visa was taking a couple of weeks longer than expected.

When the fridge exploded as it was so old they told us it would take them at least a week to get a new one. When the bath started to leak through the floor into the living room we couldn't shower or use the bath for a week and a half.
When the toilet broke it took them 48 hours to fix.

They demanded we repaint the whole living room to patch one hole on the wall but when we moved in there were holes everywhere. We vacated the property early so we had time to paint and clean despite the house being dirty when we moved in. They demanded it be professionally cleaned but couldn't prove that it had been done before we moved in, and we know it hadn't been as we knew the previous tenants. I went back one day to find that they had free rein in the 4-5 days we hadn't been due to work and absolutely trashed the garden. When I called them to complain they said they told me a month previously, they had not told us at all and did not give the requisite 24 hours notice to enter the property. We ended up handing the keys back a week early because they were being so unprofessional and causing us so much stress but they then refused to do the check out early knowing that the repair guy would be there to create a mess after we had already cleaned and then they had the audacity to put on our check our inventory that we had left “grime” and “dirt” which was clearly left by the repair man. Who was coming at the end of September to repair the ceiling from a bathroom leak that happened in April. They pointed out that the lampshades were different to the inventory but as the inventory was wrong they didn't realise that is how the property was when we moved in. And as we know the previous tenants I was able to confirm they used the same inventory for us that they did for other tenants despite various things being different. We requested our deposit back which of course they dragged their feet over, and I am still trying to get my deposit back.

I 100% would not recommend Andrews Abingdon, they are unprofessional, expensive and lazy. I made a complaint that they said was “resolved” which still is not so I am faced with having to contact trading standards to finally sort it. They have been a burden in our lives for over 2 years. I don't think the landlord knows the extent of how Andrews treat his tenants and how run down they have let his property get.
