I had the WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER with EJ Harris and would strongly recommend anyone to go elsewhere.
First off, the agent from EJ Harris sent us a written confirmation that the landlord agreed to our additional furniture requirements alongside our offer on a rental property. The requirements were crucial since the apartment came with very little furniture. The agent then came back to us after we payed the holding deposit of 2 weeks rent and said the landlord never received the email with the requirements so there was no certainty that we would receive the furniture we had been promised before agreeing to the deal. Great.
This was on a Friday afternoon, we were told the agent would get back to us asap but later found out she went on holiday the following Monday and didnt bother to inform us when we then had about 10 days until we were moving in and didnt know what was happening with the furniture.
But wait, it then got even WORSE..
A week after our offer got excepted, the deposit had been paid and we got through the reference check, we were told when calling the agency to just touch ground since we hadn\'t heard from them in a few days, that the apartment were NO LONGER AVAILABLE. They said the landlord had gone with a higher offer (note this is a RENTAL property) even though we had written agreement of the landlord accepting our offer and paid deposit.
E&J Harris was not prepared to take any responsibilities and simply blamed the situation on a "sneaky agent from another agency". They said they will "try" to pay back the deposit we paid.
We now find ourself in the most stressful situation, we have to move out in 2 weeks, have money that was meant as a deposit tied up with an agency we no longer wish to use and have declined viewings for over a week since we were told our offer had been accepted.
This was suppose to be a fun experience and we been so excited to move into our new home, but this agency has turned it into a right nightmare. If you\'re looking for a new place in London, PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE THAN E&J HARRIS! I would rather use Gumtree.
