Having dealt with a lot of agents, I have to say my husband and I were quite surprised by the level of service with the company... We had a very quiet, awkward lettings viewing with an agent who didn't say a single word throughout our viewing at a 2-bed property on Hadrian Street. Even when I prompted him to tell us a little more about the place and area, he replied with "Period. Cottage" which was listed on the website and was either, unable or unwilling, to tell us any more. He didn't ask a single question about us, which I imagine any landlord would like to know. He also didn't think to tell us several important details i.e. the landlord was going to fit a washing machine, fridge etc. into the kitchen before we moved in, until I squeezed this out at the end.
Honestly, coming from a family that run an international property consultancy and as a landlord for a property in London: I would not want this agent selling or letting my property out at all. It put us off an otherwise decent property big time. We were even considering to forgo getting a pet as the landlord didn't want pets, but decided to look elsewhere mostly because of the viewing and lack of follow up.

Comment on agent fees
Bad: I was told the landlord wanted 1800 for the property but could be "convinced" to let it at 1700. The next day I saw an ad from John Payne for the same property listed at 1700. I didn't appreciate that at all.
