I lived at the property for 2years, my contract ended after the first year. I went on a monthly rental. I always paid my rent promptly. Two months before I moved out I lost my job. I was unable to pay the rent for the last two month to when I was due to move out. I called David and explained to him he was so kind and said to me as long as I give him a time frame of when j would pay the outstanding balance then all is well. I then set two dates with the months after I moved out promising I will call back into their office to make the payments which I did. David had initially told me he won't charge me the £75 fee for late payment of my rent when we had that phone conversation. Moving after paying the outstanding rent, then went on DPS website to request for my £100 deposit. I had the claim rejected because they where claim £15 Off the money for not cleaning the room I occupied. This wasn't true as I did clean the room and the landlord of the house was there to witness it all. I called the landlord and he said the £15 was down to a draw that I cracked during my stay at the property. Now that is perfectly understandable. I went back to martin & co to tell them i agree to the counter claim and all they need to do was to go back on the DPS websit to chang their counter claim to £15 then i can have £85 paid back to me. It has been weeks of counter emails with sian who have been very unhelpful telling me things like if you had paid you final rent on time their would have been a delay with repaying you deposit. I am of the opinion that I have completed the outstanding balance surely the principle would be that I get my own money back. She then added that I also need to be aware she didn't charge me for late payment fee which David had initially told be I wasn't going to be charge this amount as long as I give them a specific time that I was going to pay of my rent. Furthermore, sian kept telling me they have their manage at DPS working on getting my money back but truely this was all bullshit because I called DPS myself almost a dozen times and they said martin &co haven't contacted them regarding my deposit and they sent of an email to martin & co regarding my deposit and these incompetent people working for martin & co failed to respond to the email. I have since sent off a statutory declaration form which was signed by my lawyer to get my money back. THIS COMPANY IS HIGHLY INCOMPETENT AND HAS NO INTEREST OF THE TENANT AT HEART. AVOID AT ALL COST. THEY ARE JUST OUT TO MAKE PROFIT
