Stay away from these daylight robbers!
I have rented properties for several years and dealt with many agents before. CDL are the worst of the worst. They have the most incompetent and rude staff I have ever dealt with.
They produced a completely bogus inventory list that wasn't even the same one that the original inventory clerk carried out. They made all sorts of outrageous claims without any evidence or justification. They produced fake receipts when demanded for evidence for work they didn't even do. They even had the audacity to claim that lightbulbs cost them £49 to purchase when they didn't even need them. When asked for receipts, this number had conveniently changed and the dates on this receipt didn't even match the date they claimed this amount. As it turned out after speaking to the new tenants, they didn't even change any bulbs or carry out any of the work they claimed costs for.
After some investigation on my part, I also found that the £250 professional clean they tried to charge me for wasn't even carried out. And the 'invoice' produced was through a 'company' that didn't even do professional cleaning (LGM Energy) which only exists to allow them to invoice charges for fake claims. This company turned out to be run by one of the agent's colleagues!
They repeatedly lied to both us and the landlord in order to bag more money for themselves.
I can go on and on about more ridiculous incidents with CDL but I think this should be enough to warn anyone from ever dealing with them. Even if they were the last estate agents on Earth, I wouldn't go anywhere near them.
What agent could do to change your mind?
I don't think I could ever trust them again following all their lies and rudeness and dismissive behaviour
