Absolutely terrible!

I have been with this agency for a number of years and the service has been going downhill. Let\'s start with a former staff employee, who decides to leave and take some confidential material with her (i.e. client information for her to abuse later). What does Phil Bennett do? Brush it aside as if it\'s an isolated matter, despite it being a breach of the terms and conditions in terms of confidentiality. Consequently, when you decide to leave after such a revelation... be prepared to be patronised as if you\'re somehow clueless. Oh, and don\'t forget to pay their tenancy renewal fee upon your exit... too bad the original agreement didn\'t go missing with their ex-employees.

If you enjoy chasing agents up to do the job that they are paid to do... then look no further. Give them a call and expect to find a resolution no later than 2 weeks to a month for something trivial. If you like the line: \'we\'ll call you back today\' and then have nobody call you... this is definitely the agency for you.

After leaving them, Freda Bowyer sends me an email for an invoice that is more than 4 months old. You get that? 4 months old! After I pay it, it turns up that I\'ve now paid twice because they had misplaced their own invoice. It seems that much of their paper work goes missing with both former and existing employees. Guess who they\'re gonna chase to pay for their own mistakes... the landlord. It\'s absolutely pathetic! Now, after two weeks of chasing up a refund... I\'m either told that they will deposit the money or they\'ll look into it. Does it really take a fortnight for money to clear. I rang them up today and guess what? Freda\'s on her holidays... maybe she took some of the important paper work with her as clearly nobody else in the office has a clue about a former landlord chasing something up for 2 weeks.

The only thing Bennett Residential care about is taking your money... so much so that they\'re willing to deceive each other with your confidential information to make a quick buck! This is just GREED!

When I first met Phil Bennett at my buy-to-let, I was told that my property was in good hands and that I had nothing to worry about... Yeah, good job Phil.

What agent could do to change your mind?
The agent could have been more professional with regards to confidentiality. They could also consider employing staff that actually tell the truth and call landlords back when they say they will. It may also be beneficial for landlords to not have to pay the same invoices on more than one occasion. I would strongly recommend some kind of simple filing system where important documentation does not go missing. It would also be an idea to not present outstanding invoices after 4 months. Finally, don\'t patronise your landlords and employ staff that walk off with confidential information.
