Myself and 3 other friends found a house we liked in Clapham (137 Ferndale Road), on with Morgan Randall.
We went to look round it a couple of times with Leah Smith - all seemed well at the time, she seemed nice etc.
We needed to find the 5th person, so when we found them we had to go and look round a final time - this time, Leah was incredibly rude - she was hurrying us around the house, and said when we got there \'well yeah we can\'t spend long her cos I\'ve been here like SEVEN TIMES NOW\' (we obviously hadn\'t.)
Despite her rudeness, we had all signed also asked for a couple of things to be done to the house (blind on the bathroom door, locks on doors etc.) and she had mentioned that the landlord was going to tear down and re-do the huge shed at the back which was fine.
1 week before we were due to move in, Leah suddenly turns round and says \'oh yeah, the landlord is going to be building that shed in your garden into a studio over the summer\'. Obviously we were not happy about this as there would be so much noise over our summer, builders going in and out of the house constantly and we would basically lose our back garden and then eventually have a stranger living at the back of the house - none of this was in the contract.
So we fought back and had every legal right to refuse this - or so we thought. Leah then tells us that actually she never had the landlord sign the contract so there is nothing binding us, and the landlord doesn\'t want us living there anymore so suddenly we were out of a lot of money, and a house because of Leah Smith.
In hindsight, obviously we should have checked the contract when it was signed, but that is no excuse for Leah giving us the worst experience you could possibly ask for - it took MR 5 weeks to give us our money back, and Leah refused to help.
DO NOT rent a house off this woman!!
What agent could do to change your mind?
Done her job properly?
