I would advise that anyone using Strawberry Letting that they use them with extreme caution.

For a property with a monthly rent of £300 this is what they charged me.
One Applicant: £185.00 +VAT
Guarantor £50.00 + VAT
Lodging of Deposit £25.00 + VAT

I lived in this place for 6 months and Strawberry Lettings with the landlord made sure that my entire deposit amount was conveniently taken for dilapidation. For normal cleaning and general wear and tear over 6 months the lettings agent took the entire £400 deposit that I had paid.
Comment on agent fees
Agents fee was close to £200 for a property with a monthly rent of £300.

The letting agent was quick to take my deposit but for some curious reason they weren't so efficient when returning it. The tone of their correspondence was officious and insincere, and the frequency of the property inspections was erratic....

I have absolutely no experience in running a letting agency myself, however I am pretty sure if I were to be put in charge of Strawberry Lettings and told to be as incompetent as possible, I would still manage to provide better service than they ...

I totally agree. I have received for over 2.5 years the most appalling service from Strawberries. They are incompetent, unresponsive and unprofessional. I have never received such poor service before, even in comparison to estate agents who acted for landlords when I was at uni. Their typical response for lack of progress in resolving matters is that their colleague has not let the relevant person know that a problem has been reported. When they finally acknowledge that there is a problem (despi ...
