Reeds Rains invoiced us for installing smoke alarms and a carbon monoxide alarm on a rental property prior to moving in. These were never fitted. The issue was only picked up by ourselves after the tenant became so unhappy with the service received from Reeds Rains that she contacted us directly. After making a complaint to Reeds Rains and being told she would call me back with an update I had to again chase them. The person dealing with the issue was rude and shouted at me down the phone to say "I told you I was dealing with it after I requested, given the urgency of the matter, to have someone go out that day. She then refused to give me the number of her manager saying she didn't have it. For a national firm to be unable to have a contractor who can go out on short notice is very worrying.

We only seem to get information when something goes wrong. If I phone up and ask about a query it is often not dealt with very quickly.
They were very good when the boiler had broken and were swift in getting quotes etc.

I feel that the management fees are a rip off. 12% of the monthly rental and then we are charged ‚£60 every 6 months for renewing the contract. It feels as if they are getting money for doing nothing.
