I'm gutted and feeling completely stressed out! I would tell everyone and happy to post on as many reviews, Facebook etc to ensure no one has to go through dealing with this money grabbing unhelpful so called estate agents. Wished I had read these reviews before I dealt with them!
It was the first time living by myself after coming out of a family home for over 30 years. I found through Centricks a luxury fully furnished apartment in Dickens Heath. As I started moving my things in I noticed the mattress (which was conveniently covered with a sheet!) was blood stained and had urine stains all over it and covered in hair so I rang them in the afternoon telling Centricks and sent pictures telling them I would not sleep on it and they needed to contact the landlord and get it replaced, they even had a cheek to cover it with a sheet it was so bad! The furniture was old fashioned with large deep scratches in it. They said they had tried to get hold of him and couldn't do anything about it, and that he would be coming later to put the blinds up! I begged them to come out to see how bad it was as didn't feel they could see from pictures how bad it is, but they were not interested.
The bedroom was a very over looked as was the living room and kitchen apartment, when Mandip (landlord) did arrive in the evening much to my dismay as it was my first night being there he said there was nothing wrong with the mattress and I told him that I had rented a luxury top end apartment who would want a 2nd hand mattress he had the cheek to say well you didn't state you wanted a new one!!!!! He said there was nothing wrong with it, I told him it was gross and he needed to take it to one of his other properties if it was fine and get me a new one, he said he would not, so I insisted that he took it out of the apartment which he left outside my door (embarrassing) the next day I saw it leaned against the bins! (so not good enough for his other properties!) I had to sleep on the floor for the next 3 nights as had to wait for a delivery of a new mattress that I had to buy myself. I haven't even finished yet! He came back the following day to put up the rest of the blinds in my personal and should have been private time in my new apartment, he had left them with 4 inch gaps either side so people passing could still see into my bedroom! And 6 inch gap either side of my bathroom window! He told me I could not put anything on the walls so I asked him about my tv to be put up, he started to drill the bracket and said he couldn't complete it and would come back in a few weeks to do it, gave me his mobile number to arrange. 2 weeks later i text him and asked him when he could do, he sent me a message saying go through Centricks as they manage the property! What a cowboy is all I can say, I feel really sorry for the next tenants who are young newly married and have no idea what they are letting themselves in for!
Centricks were not interested and did nothing to sort this out with the landlord.
I decided I would leave after 6 months as knew I would have future problems with issues in the apartment, gave my notice. They wanted windows cleaned, carpets, cooker, fridge etc So I did the lot cleaned it thoroughly even though I was hardly there and then they drop the bill saying that the oven needed a wipe, as did the table and tv stand and light mould treatment to bathroom £66.00, which apparently needs doing every 6 months as I was told by checkout (would this not then be normal wear & tear) and repair costs £165.00 which is really upsetting as these little 11 altogether chips etc they have charged at £15.00 per issue were already there when I arrived I just thought it would be petty of me to take photos of it. I asked him if I could use sticky hooks to hang things inside a walk in cupboard as there was no where to hang coats etc, I had told him I was worried in case it took paint of the walls he said do not worry about it, it did take one strip of 2 inches inside the walk in cupboard and I decided not to do anymore and Mandip (landlord) is now saying he did not recall the conversation! So they are charging me £15.00 for that too.
If only I had read previous reviews about this disgusting treatment I have received of both Centricks and the landlord i would never have used them, so please let others know how terrible they are, this has caused me so much stress and so much time from work having to deal with it.
