City Life are the type of letting agents that give the industry a bad name - dishonest and incompetent. It is now two months after the end of our tenancy, and not one penny of the deposit has been returned, following hours on the phone to them, in clear breach of the conditions of the Tenancy Deposit Scheme. They refuse to return calls, blatantly claim that members of staff are out when they are in fact waving at their colleague to fob you off (they use caller ID to try to avoid you, I actually caught them out at this by calling back immediately on a different number, to be answered by the person who had been \'out\' 30 seconds earlier). Avoid if at all possible.
What agent could do to change your mind?
They could and should have returned the deposit promptly, rather than holding on to it (all of it, not just the small percentage that was in dispute) for months. They are dishonest, incompetent and plain rude - the worst company it has been my misfortune to deal with for many years. Alex and Rasheed are particularly obnoxious.
