Beware Spencers have a lot of hidden costs. Make sure you read the contract especially with regards to exiting the property. For example, you could be charged 30 pounds for not cancelling your direct debit, or 30 pounds for not being there on the day you leave the property.
The most shameful charge is having to pay 20 pounds for a reference if you choose to change agencies when you move house.
It is not fair and is frankly rediculous, when would you ever get charged for a reference? This is the only example I have ever come across.
Oh and its 125 pounds to renew your tenancy after a year. They tried to charge us this when we just wanted to extend our tenancy by a month. The representative from Countrywide tried to say that it wasn't possible. It took a lot of phone calls to get them to drop it. Who in their right mind would pay 125 pounds to renew a contract, put in a get out clause, for the pleasure of staying on for one month extra?

The agency comes across, unfortunately, as money grabbing opportunists. They must be making a fortune charging tenants! They should drop these disproportionate charges as customers will not come back to use them again.Attached Filesnbsp;
