We recently checked out of a property we had been renting in Didcot and managed by Chancellors. We took very good care of the property: replanting the garden after the grass had been destroyed by neighborhood cats, repainting whole rooms where previous tenants had done damage, and making small repairs where needed - all paid for by us, not the landlady. When we checked out, we had the property cleaned to a significantly high standard by a professional cleaning company - paid for out of our own pocket. The property was in better condition when we checked out than when we checked in, by far. Even still, the landlady and Chancellors had the audacity to charge us hundreds of pounds for nothing. If this is occurring at other Chancellors' properties, this is fraud on a massive scale and certainly worthy of a class action lawsuit.

I completely agree with the tenant above. My goodness, we have been trying for the past 11 weeks to get our deposit refunded back to us by Chancellors & our Landlady. As with the tenant above, we left the house in a far better state than when we moved in. Even the Check Out Contractor commented & thanked us, so we were extremely intrigued & confused when we were told that we needed to pay for grass to be replanted on a 'muddy patch' in front of the property, that is actually allocated as parking! It's been 11 weeks & the Landlady & Chancellors have yet to come up with a 'cost' of what they feel will be adequate compensation. Nothing! All quotes the Landlady requested & received have not been accepted by her. The result - we have now started a Dispute with TDS. I will add that the treatment you receive as a tenant is shocking to say the least!

Superb service letting my house over the last 28 months. Katy and Nick have found me lovely new tenants really quickly, given me good advice and kept me really well informed. It's a pleasure to work with them. I have always found their communication great between all parties.

This company is very poor as property managing agents. The people in Didcot seemed lovely and professional but day to day the property is not dealt with by them but remote people in Bracknell who are slow and quite frankly rude. I would not recommend ...

From the very outset Chancellors were quite difficult to deal with. Only about 25% of my calls were ever returned, they couldn't even help out with bathroom size (not on floorpan) as "they don't have a tape measure". Their completions department were pretty clueless too, all ...

Interestingly enough as a landlord I have had similar issues from the other side where it's been suggested that to replace a lightbulb I would have to pay more than £100. Needless to say I did it myself at considerably reduced cost! I am not aware of the tenant being deducted for a similarly extortionate amount. This agent is only interested in looking after themselves. ...

Chancellors of Bracknell provide a terrible service. When you call up to enquire about a property you are told they will get someone to call you back and then you never hear from anyone. On the one occasion that they did call back I put forward and couple of properties I was interested in viewing and I was thinking all had changed when they actually emailed me back and asked what day I could view. However when I wrote back with a couple of queries, once again, I have never heard back from them. A ...
