We purchased two previous properties through pedder previously and the service was okish. This time we Were selling our flat and buying a house which was marketed through pedder. When we made an offer on the house they told us that they will not put our offer through to the sellers unless we would market our property with them claiming that this would give extra reassurance to the seller and would allow them to manage the process smoothly. They also asked us to provide a provisional mortgage offer to make sure we had the money to buy this house! They evaluated our flat at one price then two weeks later said that we had to bring the price down then when we received an offer from our buyers, they claimed the buyers are "ready" with mortgage and that they are renting and will be ready to proceed as quickly as needed. This was 2nd may. The buyers applied for mortgageb ONLY first week of June! Then they had a very difficult solicitor and were difficult themselves. We were in a rush to move as I was pregnant and stressed the fact that my due date was approaching. The seller of the house we were buying had health problems which were deteriorating and wanted to move quickly as well. yet pedder seemed to be only concerned about our buyers and were very defensive of their circumstances which were holidays in the middle of the selling process, despite the fact that it was us and the seller of the house who were paying the commission fee not the buyers of our flat!
This sale has been a nightmare! On proposed date of exchange we wanted to bring the completion date forward stressing the urgency of forthcoming birth and health problems of the seller of the house, we emailed Travor Cain the night before, followed up with a call early morning next day. Did he bother with the urgency? No! Our buyers didn\'t mind moving the date couple the days earlier, however, when we asked to contact the vendor of the house were told she didn\'t answer and they left a message. We called the vendor directly a minute later and she answered the phone and said no one called. We have been very dissatisfied with pedder this time and will never ever use them again. We ended up doing a lot of their job, had to chase most of the matters.

Act in the best interests of the seller who pays their commission, be more efficient and pro-active
