I have used Alan Harvey twice for 2 seperate houses. The lettings office on roman road is fantastic and I couldn't fault Josh in there at all. However once your in a property managed by the (unfortunately both were) you see how truley useless they are. The first house we lived in needed some serious attention, one thing being a replacement window, which didn't get fixed for 4 months and a heated visit to the office by me and my flatmate. Every job we asked them to do took countless emails and phone calls to sort out.
It was silly for us to go with them again, however we chose a new build flat that needed no work so we didn't have hardly any contact with the office, only when we needed a new fob after losing one.
However after leaving the flat in perfect condition we received the check out stating the flat was dirty and we had broken items which was completely wrong. We are still disputing charges especially since we only received the check out 20 days afte leaving the property which nulls their contract with us. You cannot get hold of them when you need to, they claim they don't get your emails and you deal with someone new every month because they can't seem to keep the staff. They falsify records on the system to say they have called us to tell us about changes to our terms and conditions. They will also not provide you with evidence of what they are charging you for, leading us to believe they are just stealing money from you.
Do not use this company to manage your property or move into a property manageed by them, they are just a bunch of incompetent people. The lettings and sales office is fantastic, shame they can't get a similar calibre of staff for their management team.
What agent could do to change your mind?
They could have kept correct records of dealings with tenants and provide you with a detailed invoice of what they charge you for.
