lived in one of their student houses for a year. Very frustrating. Problems never solved despite their assurances that someone would be over to help. We had to live without hot water as they refused to accept that their was a problem with our boiler.

On moving out we were presented with an outrageous amount of charges. We were charged the ridiculous \'check-out fee\' which seems incredibly unfair as you don\'t really have a choice but to check-out eventually, and why it costs £75 to do so is beyond me.

Then we were charged for things that we had complained repeatedly to ATF about, such as mould and a broken bed frame. They also came up with some false charges for a \'missing doorknob\' which, fortunately, my housemate had taken pictures of the house as we left which proved that the doorknob was still intact.

Then there was the excessive \'general cleaning, including oven\' charge, which considering we left the place about 10 times cleaner than when we arrived, was a huge insult.

A few of the members of staff were friendly and helpful but the overall experience is one that I wouldn\'t wish to repeat.

Amy we are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with the service you have received from Around Town Flats. Your Deposit Case Manager will be able to deal with your group feedback to the schedule of discrepancies issued since your tenancy ended on 30th June and the check out inventory was prepared. The case manager will also be able to send a copy of the Holding Charge receipt that the tenants signed when you first put in an offer for the property - this sets out all the costs clearly including the tenants share of 50% of the check inventory costs and check out inventory costs which you have refered to in your review as a "check out fee".

If you are unable to agree the costs associated with any discrepancies identified, and agreed as being tenants responsibility, through discussion with the case manager and your Landlord you can chose to have the case referred to Deposit Protection Scheme (DPS) arbitration scheme. This is a great service that is free, quick and pretty easy to use.
