Please if you ever follow any advice in this life do not choose Aberdeen Property Leasing. Out of many bad experiences we had as a young professional couple staying in Cults for three years the low lights have to be:
1. Over Christmas 2010 we had frozen pipes due to the record breaking low temperatures in the area. This was not my gripe in its self but the way we were treated upon reporting this issue. The staff were rude, unhelpful and disinterested. We were also told to check into a hotel and that they wouldnt charge us for the days without water. Eventually after removing panels and using hairdryers we managed to solve the problem ourselves with absolutely no help from APL.
2. Upon leaving the property we were charged an extortionate ammount for "remarketing" the property prior to leaving as we still had 2 months left before the end of our 6 month rolling contract. Someone moved in the day we moved out. Pure profit for APL
3. Also on leaving the property we received £0 of our £775 deposit of which mostly comprised the remarketing fee in point 2 (this was £628.41). We reluctantly accepted this as we didnt want to keep paying rent for a further two months while we lived elsewhere. so this leaves £146.59 of our deposit to be returned to us. Guess what! After leaving the property we were invoiced £146.59 for cleaning. The cleaning took apparently 4 hours and we were told the items that needed cleaning were.....a dusty skirting board, water marks on the shower (from our cleaning!) and a dirty rim on the dishwasher! funny eh! On the letting agents final inspection, prior to us laeving, the agent remarked this property is "immaculate as usual".
I am seeking legal advice and have reported them to the Office of Fair Trading and Trading Standards.
Please please please do not let a any kind of property from APL unless you are prepaired to be ripped off!
