Jay Hayden was very proactive in helping us to find the flat. He let us know straight away when a flat came on the market in the road we liked best and unlike other agents we had registered with did not bombard us with information about properties outside our budget or search area.
The viewing wasn\'t ideal as we shared a time slot with another girl, meaning that we couldn\'t discuss what we thought or ask the questions we wanted to. When we agreed to take the flat, the agent showing us round had to tell a small crowd of people waiting on the pavement that the flat had gone so they wouldn\'t be able to view it. Though it was good for us that others weren\'t allowed to start a bidding war with us, it appeared unprofessional to have so many people at the property at once and to waste the others\' time.
Susan prepared the contracts, which was a less straightforward process. There were lots of errors in the first draft of the document which took a while to sort out. This meant that we were being chased for the deposit and payment of fees before we were able to agree the contract. There were also a number of errors in the inventory, and the contents of the garden shed were not covered at all. The process for renewing the contract for a second year has been very easy, though, with no issues arising.
