The referencing process was straight forward but that was about it. We were reminded to pay promptly more than once, but when questions were sent back regards the tenancy agreement, information was limited and customer service (in my opinion) could have been better. The agreement had to be sent twice due to an inaccuracy. When I asked about their obligations to repairs, specifically what constitutes an emergency and the associated timescales, they could confirm nothing. Apparently they decide what's an emergency at the time, and they decide how long it takes to process - not particularly reassuring from a company that charged (in my opinion) extortionate amounts of money for an inaccurate tenancy agreement template - they didn't even bother to remove all of the references that weren't relevant to us. I was advised they adhere to the ARLA guidelines for the repairs query, as Martin & Co are members, but I couldn't find the guidelines on the website - still haven't seen them. The website did however, detail it's concerns with the pending Tenants Fees Bill - shocker.
Comment on agent fees
As with all lettings agents, horrendous. Excessive amounts of money for (incorrect) email templates. My preference is to deal with a landlord directly. When letting agents manage the property, as well as the process, problems arise in my experience. A money making exercise minus the service.
