I agreed to let my flat in Nassington Road thru Leon who is no longer with the company. I do not normally use letting agents but did so in 2007 on the understanding that that I would not have to pay a renewal fee should the tenants stay after 1 year. Foolishly I did not insist on Leon confirming this in writing. On the day before the tenants moved in I was given a 15 page Agreement to sign. At this time I was under a great deal of pressure as I was studying and had assingment deadlines looming. I was also preparing the AGM of a society in which I play an active part which was due to take place the next day. I followed up on the signing of this document with an email that same day which among other items stated \'The agreement I made with Leon for Ludlow Thompson (LT) to let the flat was a fee of 8% with nor further fees. Unfortunately I did not notice in the agreement that I signed that LT had not removed reference to the renewal fee, tho they had amended the agreement to show the amended finders fee (normally 10%). They have been chasing me ever since and refuse to accept that my letter sent by email constitutes evidence. They are now pursuing the matter in court. I will certainly not be using them again and they have put me off ever using lettings agents
