Austin Rees, is not listening us, is not trying to get at the bottom of their mistake.. but just trying to intimidate us to pay what we have paid already.

This has been going on for 3 years and is at point to bring them in court as is affecting our life.

They don\'t want to give us an appointment to discuss the issue in person, and also they have been ignoring all proof of payment we did sent to them via post.

Also they don't do the maintenance work they should do in the building.

if you are thinking to get a new company for the Building Maintenance... avoid them as they are not keen to admit errors.
What agent could do to change your mind?
they are Not Friendly. They don\'t let you meet any one in person.

I agree with every comment made here about Austin Rees and particularly Nick Mills. He seems to believe that if he says they are the leading brighton agent often enough miraculously it will become true. If you complain to them they take offence and adopt a zero tolerance policy to your communications. They take ages to respond to most things, if they tesond at all and make up stories with no proof to back them up. The best thing they ever did was resign from managing our building.

It is both extraordinary and telling that Nick's response to legitimate comment is that Austin Rees will initiate legal proceedings for he errantly describes as "slander".

Surely, Nick, as any Judge or professional mediator will tell you, the best way to resolve any dispute is by negotiation and not litigation !

Just face up to the incontrovertible fact that Austin Rees, like anyone else, can, from time to time, make mistakes. When mistakes occur Austin Rees need to learn that in this day and age that they need to be transparent and humble.

Update : Unfortunately FD did not get in touch and we were not able to identify who they are. We do work hard to offer a good service and we have strong working relationships with freeholders and leaseholders.

Some nasty and wholly inaccurate comments were added to the post above and we thank Allagents for acting promptly in having them removed. The nature of our business does mean that we have to collect money from flat owners to properly maintain buildings. This is not always taken well and a small minority will always see us the baddies! Austin Rees strive for transparency and remain completely independent.

The post above is slanderous, completely unfair and incorrect. Our solicitors have now taken steps to identify the individual posting these comments and legal proceedings for defamation of character will then commence.

Contrary to what has been said, our company was first incorporated in 1929 and is built on our good reputation. Please ignore this small minority of anonymous individuals using the power of the internet in an attempt to damage our business.

I am sorry to hear of your problems and would be pleased to discuss the matter further with you. Far from the image you have portrayed of Austin Rees, we are the leading local managing agent and have looked after many of the large blocks along Brighton and Hove seafronts for many years. Our staff are helpful and efficient and our systems are regulated and offer a great deal of transparency.

You do not say the address of your property and I cannot comment without this information. You do state that monies were paid to a previous agent and it is likely that we are having to work on information supplied by that company unless proof can be provided to the contrary.

We receive very few complaints and have strong working relationships with freeholders, leaseholders, RTM companies and residents associations.
